Priming scarf joints

Today the temperature was good enough to do some priming in the garage. I still needed to prime the scarf joints for the wing skins.

Here's one of the primed corners.

I just simply masked off the area...

...and shot it with primer. One interesting point...I discovered something about painting today. In the past I had just been passing the spray gun back and forth over the surface to get full coverage, but most of the parts I primed had a somewhat rough surface. I discovered that if you catch a glare in the surface that you're priming, that you can actually watch the amount of primer that's getting applied to the surface so that it completely wets the surface and all the tiny little droplets flow together into a nice uniform coat. It's really very visible and controllable if you just pay attention to the reflection.
