Polishing firewall

After about 2 1/2 hours of work with the green and blue compounds, I had this middle section completed. It's not quite as nice as the first section I did, but this process is agonizingly slow, so my standards are degrading.

Another four hours of work and I'm nearly halfway done with the firewall proper. This section still needs about another half hour of work with the blue compound, but then I'll be able to flip it around and work on the top half.

Once I'm done with the firewall itself, I'm not sure whether I should do the firewall recess immediately after or wait until later. I'm tempted to wait till later because this polishing fiasco has put a serious crimp in my progress. On the other hand, the shop's a disaster from all the dirt this generates, so it'd probably be a smarter decision to just bite the bullet and polish the firewall recess and heater box before cleaning up this mess. I'll have to think about it.

My bach aches. My neck is stiff. My hand hurts from running the die grinder continuously. I wish I'd never started this polishing thing. I suppose when it's done I'll be able to tell lies like "ahh it wasn't so bad" or "it only took an hour or so" but for now I'm just trying to get through it. :-/
