The wheel I've been using for the green compound had worn down so much that it
wasn't fluffy on the outside anymore. I took out about a turn and a half of
the spiral stitching to let loose some more of the threads around the perimeter
of the wheel.
Not the most flattering photo I've ever taken, but this gives you some idea of
what I'm dealing with. Yes, that's a plastic grocery bag on my head. Hey, it's dirt
cheap and it keeps the crap outta my hair.
After about 2 1/2 more hours of polishing tonight I got about 60 more square inches of
firewall polished. Everything below the horizontal row of rivets on this side of the
firewall has been done with the black and green compounds. I should be able to get about
half of the top section of firewall polished this weekend. Then just one more quadrant.
