This evening, I fitted one of the new cutting discs and mandrel to my die grinder.
Then it time to trim the bolts going through the F-704 bulkhead.
Man, that cutting disc went through the bolt like a hot knife through butter.
Should be plenty of clearance for the weldment now.
Ya probably wouldn't think that this little cutout took an hour and a half, but
it did. It probably took 50 iterations of fitting the gear weldment up, then
trimming the skin and bulkhead a little. The fit is pretty good. I've got about
1/64 inch of gap between the edge of the skin and the weldment. This may not be quite
enough, but we shall see.
