Today I got the horizontal stabilizer rear spar pieces deburred and dimpled.
I also (re)fabricated these spacers which go between the forward spar of the
horizontal stabilizer and the aft deck. The plans called for these to be made
of 2024-T4, but I didn't have any of that, so I used some 6061-T6 scrap left over
from a piece Brent gave me. Thanks, buddy!
After much adjusting, I've got both good news and bad news regarding the twist
in the fuselage. The good news is that it looks like I'm going to be able to
get the twist out. The bad news is that the prepunched holes in the new aft deck
are not going to work, so it looks like I'm going to have to fabricate a new aft
deck from scratch. Fortunately my buddy Greg is coming back from Arkansas tomorrow
and will be driving by Wick's Aircraft, so he can pick up a piece of 0.040 thick
2024-T3 for me.
