Today I went up to Mansfield to check out John Bowen's RV-9A project. He's fitting the forward
portion of the canopy frame and wanted another pair of eyes to look it over. After a while, we
determined his frame fits fine, but this side rail of the frame should be parallel with
the longeron rather than pushed down on it.
On the right side of the fuselage, this is how the skin is supposed to abut the
longeron. I was able to confirm this on Joe Strausbaugh's RV-7 later in the afternoon.
While in Mansfield, I also stopped at an industrial supply company near the airport which
carried Lubriplate 630-AA grease. This is the only place I've been able to find that would
sell single tubes. Typically the part number L0067-092 is for a case of a dozen of these.
I'm going to use this grease for all the brass bushings (control column and aileron bellcranks).
I actually picked up two tubes...one for me and one for my brother, Chris.
