After applying two coats of wood filler in the corners, I needed to fit some aluminum strips to the sides so that the lid would have an offset to match the sheetmetal thickness of the arm rest compartment.

At the aft end, the sheet metal needs to transition to a radius, so I needed to scarf the end of the strip.

I used some screws to fasten the strips to the side plates of the mold.
