It was time to debur this latch in preparation for cutting the slots in the side of the
fuselage.
Unfortunately, the part was pretty seriously bowed. Van's even mentions that this is common
in their instructions. They say to straighten it out "as best as possible".
Being dissatisfied with that recommendation, I decided to just trace it out on a flat piece
of material and just fabricate it from scratch. I believe the replacement part is 6061-T6
rather than 2024-T3, but it seems like that should be sufficient for the application.
