Snickers enjoyed some sun today while I was working in the shop.
After making the bends, and cutting, sanding, and filing the edges to the appropriate
shape, I started on drilling the most challenging holes...the 7/8" hole in the center
to accomodate the bellcrank bearing. Clecoed the part to a piece of scrap, lined it up
with a drill bit in the drill press, and clamped it in place...
...in order to drill up the hole using a unibit. This rig prevented the unibit from
drifting while drilling.
Here are the two halves of the bellcrank in roughly the proposed location. I'm waiting
to receive the bellcrank bearing from Aircraft Spruce. In the meantime, I'll make up some
other parts necessary for this arrangement.
