Interior side panels

I've not been completely happy with how this compartment is going to be fabricated. I want to make sure it has sufficient room to store a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper folded in half, and the current setup isn't quite big enough. Additionally, I'm not sure how I'm going to make a door or flap or lid to close it up.

I decided to redo this alltogether, so I removed the prep for these two bays.

I made some little cardboard supports to support a piece of masonite over these two bays.

Here's a piece of masonite cut and put in place. Looks good except that the corner near the landing gear weldment is a bit too high.

It turns out the PVC tube was lifting it up a bit. I decided to use the router to thin down the masonite so it could sit down flush with the rest of the F-704 carrythrough spar bulkhead.

I decided I'm going to form the compartment separately, then bond it to the backside of the interior side panel. To be able to understand the space available, I made some marks on this now unneeded panel.

Masonite is in place, covered with (black) posterboard, and coated in packing tape.
